Frequently Asked Questions

What options do I have to pay for my order?:
  • Payment may only be made using the following methods:
    Credit Card
    Direct Deposit / Bank Transfer
    Cash or EFTPOS (For in-store purchases only)

Can I get a Tax invoice?:
  • Yes of course. 12volts.com.au will issue a tax invoice for all items purchased and send it to your nominated e-mail address after checkout has completed. Tax invoices will include itemised GST and freight charges.

Can I get a quote please?:
  • All quotes are now user-generated. Follow these simple steps...

    • Search the part number you need via the search box at the top of the website.
    • Click on the product to check the specifications are correct, and if so...
    • Click on "Add to Quote".
    • Once finished adding products, click the quotation icon at the top right and complete all your details.
    • Click "Submit".
    • A copy of the quotation will be emailed to you once approved (generally within 24 to 48 hrs).
What happens if you run out of stock of an item I have ordered?:
  • 12volts.com.au has most items in stock. This generally means most orders are dispatched the same day, depending on the time of order, sales volume, and staffing.

    If an item is out of stock or only partially fulfilled, we will contact you regarding the back order.

    Your options include:

    • Partially shipping your order, with the balance sent later.
    • Shipping from multiple warehouses, where available.
    • Receiving a part or full refund if the item is unavailable.

    Availability is not guaranteed, and our liability is limited to a refund of the purchase price and shipping costs.

Will you give my personal information to other people?:

How soon will I receive my order?:
  • Orders placed before 9am are generally dispatched the same day. Some orders may take 1–2 days if awaiting parts. For back-orders, we will keep you updated.

    We use Australia Post Express or Toll where possible, or the fastest available service within budget constraints.

Will my parcel have tracking?:
  • Yes, all items are shipped with tracking numbers.

Can you ship internationally?:
  • Yes, we ship worldwide. Add items to your cart and proceed to checkout. If we cannot ship to your country, we will notify you.

Can I get a refund?:
  • We do not offer refunds unless required under Australian law—for example, if an item is not as described or is faulty under warranty.

Can I exchange my purchase?:
  • We may allow exchanges if:

    • The return is approved (items like cut cable, clearance or special orders are not returnable).
    • The item is unused and in original packaging.
    • Return shipping is paid by the customer.
    • The replacement item is of equal or greater value.
Will my parts be covered by a warranty?:
  • Some items are covered by a manufacturer’s warranty (e.g., LED lights). Consumables are typically not covered. Warranty claims require the item, your invoice, and an explanation. Items will be returned to the manufacturer for assessment.

    Improper use, installation, or fair wear and tear are not covered. The warranty starts from the date of invoice. If replacement is not available, options or a refund will be offered (excluding shipping).

Will I have to pay for return shipping or shipping to the repair agent?:
  • If the item is faulty within 7 days, we will supply a pre-paid return label. For courier returns, drop-off at the nearest depot may be required.

    If goods are damaged in transit:

    • Take photos of the item and packaging
    • Email the photos with invoice copy using subject “Damaged in Transit”

    If return occurs after 7 days but within warranty, you must pay for return to the manufacturer or agent.

Can I get a credit account?:
  • We do not offer credit terms. Goods must be paid in full before dispatch.
